Curator's Description

Book cover; silver-gilt chased in relief; each side with floral scrolls within formal border, interrupted by eight rosettes; nielloed medallion in centre, one side with rampant goat, other with letter; back of four hinged plates with ornament in relief; inscribed.

This object was collected and bequeathed to the British Museum by Ferdinand Anselm Rothschild.
